Website Change!!!

Hello All,

As we wrap up the 2014-15 school year we are already making plans for next year. We have some website changes and you will need to subscribe to the new CJHS band site:

www.cjhstrojanband.com

We made a seperate site for the MS students as we felt most of our info and updates were for CJHS students.

THIS WEBSITE WILL GO OFFLINE SOON, PLEASE SUBSCRIBE TO THE NEW SITE FOR ALL UPDATES.

If you are a parent of a rising 9th grader feel free to unsub from this list and subscribe to the High School band site:

www.chstrojanband.com

Thank you all for an awesome year, make sure your kids practice a little bit this summer and we will see you next year.

Mr. Huls and Ms. Menendez

Wrap Up Information

As we get closer to the end of the week we want to let you all know some important info.

  • All privately owned instruments need to go home by Friday. Students should clean out the cases, practice regularly over the summer, and make sure they keep their horn in working condition.  If you are still making payments please continue to do so over the summer.
  • Anyone playing a school owned instrument like a tuba, baritone, French horn, tenor sax, Bari sax, bassoon, or bass clarinet can sign one out for the summer to practice. We will have those forms available Wednesday.
  • All percussion kits need to go home for the summer by Friday as well.
  • See our previous article about summer camps or email us if you would still like your child to attend a summer music camp.

Please make sure your child has a plan for getting their instrument home this summer. With all these awesome skills we can’t let them go to waste.

Thanks all

Thankyou and Special Request

Thank you again to all our awesome students and parents. We sincerely hope that you enjoyed tonight’s performance.

We would like to reach out to the band family and ask for a special request. Over the weekend one of our eighth grade band members lost her home to a house fire. From what we know everyone is okay, but the house is a total loss.

If you are willing to bring in a donation of cash $5, 10 or $20 we are planning on collecting it and putting together a special card signed by the band, and visa gift card to help with any expenses during this troubling time.

Every little bit can help. We will collect cash donations until Thursday, and plan to deliver the cards Friday.

Thanks again everyone.

The sixth grade band did such an excellent job representing the band program today. Bravo!!!!
Next week monday is our last performance. 7pm at the MAC (6th graders arrive at 6:30 in uniform.)

See you there!!!

Friendly Reminder for 6th Graders

Next week Tuesday, May 12 we will be having a concert for the fourth and the fifth grade classes at CMS. The concert is first thing in the morning in the multi purpose room from 8:10 AM until 10 AM.

Students should come to school in their band uniform, and can change out of uniform as soon as they are done.  We will be done in time for them to change before the junior beta induction ceremony.

Parents do not need to attend this concert since it is just a recruitment concert. We will have our final spring concert on May 18th at 7 PM in the Mabry Arts

Thanks all.

A Huge Thankyou

Happy Mothers Day !!!

Thank you to all our 8th grade band parents and students. Especially those parents who came on our trip this weekend to Charlotte NC.

Our kids did an excellent job representing our school on the trip and had a ton of fun.  Their behavior was excellent, their energy was awesome, and their performance was inspiring. We couldn’t be more proud.

Thanks to everyone for making sure your child fundraised and turned in payments on time.  It takes a big family to make trips like this happen and that’s what we have here at CJHS.

6th grade band has a concert Tuesday morning and then one more performance for all band members 6th-8th coming up on May 18th at 7pm at the MAC.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
